Rustic WEdding Ideas
If you are planning a rustic themed wedding, you may want to consider using artificial flower varieties that have a natural and slightly wild feel to them. Here are some silk flower options that could work well for a rustic themed wedding:
Sunflowers: Sunflowers are a popular choice for rustic weddings due to their bold, sunny appearance. They look beautiful simply tied together as a bunch with rustic twine binding or mixed with vibrant blue delphiniums. Or for a more autumnal wedding you could mix sunflowers with burnt orange dahlias, chrysanthemum blooms, berries and autumnal greenery. Sunflowers also work well with other rustic elements like hessian, twine and natural wood.
Baby's breath: Baby's breath or Gypsophila is a delicate and airy flower that adds a touch of whimsy to any floral arrangement. It works well on it’s own or in combination with other flowers or greenery. Gypsophila is naturally white or pink but artificial baby’s breath is available in a range of different colours.
Wildflowers: Wildflowers like daisies, asters, and Queen Anne's lace have a slightly untamed and natural feel that's perfect for a rustic wedding. They also come in a variety of colors, which makes them a versatile option.
Succulents: Succulents have a unique, sculptural look that can add texture and interest to your floral arrangements. They also work well as a non-traditional bouquet option for the bride or bridesmaids. Artificial succulents are available in a variety of different shades of grey greens, dark green and red green. The grey green shades tone beautifully with eucalyptus and lambs ear foliage.
Lavender: Lavender has a lovely soft purple hue that adds a touch of elegance to any floral arrangement. It also pairs well with other rustic elements like wood and hessian. Like gypsophila it looks great on it’s own just tied simply in a bunch or mixed with other wildflowers and /or greenery. A mix of lavender, gypsophila and eucalyptus greenery would make a beautiful rustic bouquet for the bride and bridesmaids.
Dahlias: Dahlias are a versatile flower that come in a variety of colours and sizes. They have a slightly vintage feel that's perfect for a rustic themed wedding. If you are planning a rustic wedding in late summer or autumn then dahlias would be a great choice to reflect the season.
As well as choosing flowers with interesting shapes and textures, to help create rustic wedding flowers it helps to include a selection of greenery with the branches arranged in a natural, unstructured style making the overall design less uniform and a more loosely gathered look.
